Chatham Islands Quota Holdings Ltd (CIQH) is the largest commercial asset of the Trust with an independently assessed market value in excess of $90 million at the 2023 valuation. The CIQH quota share portfolio comprises the important species; CRA6 (rock lobster), BCO4 (Blue cod), SUR4 (Kina) and a range of other wet fish. Quota shares are considered a core asset of the Trust and the retention of quota shares is considered fundamental for the future economic and social wellbeing of the Chatham Islands.

The main function of CIQH is to responsibly manage the quota share portfolio in a manner that protects and grows the asset.
